Scorching hot wall to wall sunshine. We have had the most amazing time. Fantastic house, location and views. Great walking. Love the wildlife. The cows so gentle. Weather hot, hot, hot. And a cracking thunderstorm last night. Great to be away from it all. We’ve had days out but loved coming back to the house and sit out and BBQ every evening. The remotest place we’ve stayed yet. Thank you Evan for your hospitality. Hope to be back.

This is our 4th visit to this stunning cottage, and as always Evan is a great host – we don’t know where he gets his energy from!! We’ve had so far part way through the week had glorious weather, and seen loads of hawks, which has been great. Odin has watched the cows from a distance and they still don’t seem to like him. As our week draws to an end we have had some fantastic weather, and great walks. Thank you Evan and see you next year.

Wow! This was our first visit to Wales and OMG we have the bug to return! Beautiful views, so much to see, but also an amazing place to switch off, recharge and have a chill and be one with nature. A place we would happily return to. Thank you Evan and family for making us feel so welcome and for all the little extras you have done for us.

Another amazing holiday in this incredible cottage! It was so nice to see Evan again after so long. The views are stunning (even in the rain) and the cottage is spotless and extremely comfortable. We cannot wait to come back to this magical place and unwind again! We recommend The Torrent pub in Dolgellau and the baker there is incredible! The cakes, pastries, pies etc are amazing! Thank you Evan once again for a truly wonderful holiday xx

Wow! Certainly the word of the week. The landscape, the cosy cottage (so clean – thanks Catrina). The walks (including up to the cairns), the wildlife (ravens, red kites, buzzards, yellow hammers and even a badger – and sheep of course! .And the stars!!! What an amazing place to unwind and get away from it all. Many, many thanks to the incredibly kind and generous Evan – we certainly couldn’t have managed without your truck. Thank you for sharing this magical place with us.

We have had the best 2 nights and 3 days here. I am only sorry we were not staying longer. I have fallen in love with this cottage and this place. Evan you have been the best host, making sure we felt at home. I do not want to go home. I cannot wait to come back. Thank you so much, see you soon x

Thank you Evan and Taff. We relaxed, explored and totally destressed (Karl even fell asleep in the hot tub!). Bex found the hills into Aberystwyth challenging on her bike! She enjoyed running from the sand dunes beyond Ynyslas to Borth and back… the dogs loved the dunes too! Would love to return when the weather is more on our side. Wishing you all the best xx

We’ve had a delightfully relaxing week. We loved the beaches at Borth and Aberdyfi and the marvellous views from the cottage. The hot tub is a great asset too! Evan was so friendly, as was the lovely Taff. And good weather for five out of six days was an unexpected bonus too.

Our second holiday here, we stayed in Helygen approx 10 years ago before we had kids, our second trip has passed our expectations, Evan you’re a great host and your cottages feel like home from home! Helygen
A very fantastic stay at Helygen holiday cottage! We loved the hot tub and the sheep in the field. Bertie loved going up and down the road and what a lovely place it is. From Sian xxx Age 6

Thank you so much Evan for accepting our last minute booking – Helygen was perfect for our needs and the location is perfect too!! Even though the weather wasn’t kind to us we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and exploring the local area.
Peter particularly enjoyed seeing the Ospreys and Red Kite feeding and is already planning a return visit!! Once again, thank you for your kindness and hospitality – we enjoyed our chats and am sure will be back again. Until then, diolch yn fawr iawn.

Well what can I say… AMAZING! This holiday is out of this world, amazing views. Lovely local people. Evan is super friendly. Loads of local attractions nearby. Waking up to the birds will be missed.
Enjoyed watching all the sheep that surround the field. Highlight of the trip is when x2 birds made themselves at home in the kitchen. Bruno our dog loved the garden. Will be back, so I’ll say – See you soon. Thank you. X

Fantastic time here in Helygen. Warm, comfortable and clean. Evan is a fabulous host. We have enjoyed days out down to Borth beach, Devil’s Bridge, Hafren Forest, Lake Vrrnwy and Ynyslas Nature Reserve.
We have been so relaxed in this peaceful place and are very sad to be going home. We will be back.

We all absolutely love this place! Our second time here was even better than our first, and we can’t wait for our third. We love the hike to the hills, saying good morning to the sheep, the gorgeous beach at Both, Devil’s Bridge and King Arthur’s Labyrinth.
